The Providence Improv Fest is New England's biggest improv festival. Our ongoing mission is to bring the best of the improv world to Providence, while showcasing and encouraging our burgeoning local scene. Now in our fifth year, the Fest has become a highlight of the Southern New England summer.
PIF5 runs Wednesday June 25th - Sunday June 29th. Wednesday night we kick it off with the Local Improv Blowout, a no-holds-barred contest in which the audience picks the best up-and-coming local act. Thursday through Sunday we present the world's best improv every night at Trinity Rep, Perishable Theatre, and AS220, three of downtown Providence's premiere venues, all conveniently located within a one-block radius! In the early evenings we offer free introductory improv workshops for the public, taught by our most accomplished local performers. Over the weekend we offer cheap daytime master classes, for people with improv experience, taught by nationally recognized teachers. Of course we have parties at night, and we even offer a midnight improv jam, where performers from different teams mix it up in a no-holds-barred improv throwdown.
Tickets to the Fest are cheap; a show costs $10, which includes two groups, about an hour and a half of improv. They go on sale through ArtTix in early June. Were bringing back our popular passes from last year, where you can get several shows for a discount; you can even buy a pass to the whole Fest!
