Perishable Theatre is celebrating its twenty-second year of artistic creation and innovation. Committed to the development of new work for production, Perishable Theatre seeks to produce, present, and incubate works for the stage that are innovative in both form and content. Whether it is providing theatre arts access to disadvantaged teenagers or producing groundbreaking works on our Mainstage, Perishable's programming dares audiences of all ages to challenge assumptions about how we live our lives today. Perishable has been a venue of the Improv Fest since the first year.
The Speakeasy @ Local 121 - 121 Washington St.
Local 121 is a downtown Providence restaurant specializing in locally harvested, seasonal, sustainable food and drink. The Speakeasy is their downstairs event space home to live music, film screenings, private parties, and a proud host of this year's locally themed Providence Improv Festival. PIF ticketholders making a dinner reservation upstairs before the show receive a featured complimentary appetizer.
AS220 - 115 Empire St.
AS220 is a non-profit community arts space in downtown Providence. Their mission is to provide an unjuried and uncensored forum for the arts. If you live in the state of Rhode Island, you will get an opportunity to exhibit or perform at AS220. AS220 is part Incubator and part Bazaar. They also build new audiences and infrastructure for artists to stimulate the cultural mulch in Rhode Island.
